Oriana (Angie Jenkins) originally trained in Classical Egyptian Belly Dance where she developed a strong understanding of Middle Eastern/North African music and drum rhythms. She began to resonate with this dance form on a deeper level, however, when she witnessed a video of Fat Chance Belly Dance in the 90s and fell in love with the powerful arm movements and intricate ab isolations as well as the costuming and stylization. She has since been honoured to attend workshops and classes with some of this style's innovators including Rachel Brice, Sharon Kihara, Ariellah, Samantha Hasthorpe, Jill Parker, and Mira Betz as well as the legendary Suhaila Salimpour, who has taught many of the aforementioned dancers. Oriana has also had the pleasure of performing live with various musicians and composers including Cheb i Sabbah, Adam Shaikh, Jef Stott, and Delhi 2 Dublin and opened for Modest Mouse in the late 90s.
